In 1919, the American Legion was founded on the four pillars. Veterans Affairs & Rehabilitation, National Security, Americanism, and Children & Youth. Each of these pillars encompasses a variety of programs that benefit our nation's veterans, it's servicemembers, their families, the youth of America and ordinary citizens. We have been a part of the Baltimore community for over 64 years. Our members are involved in several of our school projects, and involved in the neighborhood support programs providing help for many of our homeless veterans and citizens. These programs, and the men and women who take the time to perform them allow The American Legion to make a difference on the local, state and national levels. It's who we are and what we do.
The Past Commanders Club will be meeting to discuss helping our new, and old members become more familiar on how the American Legion works. The Past Commanders Club is offering members of the Legion, S.A.L., and the Auxiliary to join our group in taking the Basic Training Class that is now offered on line. Please take this opportunity to be a active member of your Post, and encourage others to join. More information to follow along with the times and dates. We will be showing the course on the big screen in order to make it easy for everyone to follow. You will receive a certificate and a pin at the completion. of the course.
